January 21-23, 2025 – Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI) participated in the Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Implementing Partners Inception Workshop held in Cotabato City. The three-day workshop, organized by UN Women, brought together nine civil society organization (CSO) partners to strengthen their collaborative efforts in advancing women’s participation in peacebuilding and humanitarian action in the Philippines.

Representing TFI at the event were Ahmed Harris Pangcoga, Chairperson, Judith Joy Libarnes, Managing Director, and Ruel Pugoy, Operations Officer. The workshop provided a platform to deepen collaboration and learning among CSOs working under the WPHF program.

During the workshop, Judith Joy Libarnes introduced TFI and its project under the WPHF, highlighting the organization’s commitment to empowering women and promoting peace in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). She emphasized the importance of inclusive and sustainable initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by women in conflict-affected areas.

The sessions covered essential topics, including Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), which focused on tools and strategies for tracking progress and measuring impact; Strategic Communications, which provided practical approaches to amplify advocacy and outreach; and the FACE Form, a tool designed to ensure accountability and transparency in financial reporting.

In his closing message, Ahmed Harris Pangcoga emphasized the importance of fostering relationships and collaboration among CSOs. He shared, “Bringing together organizations with diverse experiences and expertise is key to creating meaningful and lasting change for women in BARMM. By strengthening these relationships, we can build a united front in addressing the challenges and opportunities in our shared work toward peace and development.”

TFI remains committed to transforming fragilities into resilience through inclusive and sustainable programs. The organization looks forward to applying the insights gained from the workshop to strengthen its efforts in promoting women’s leadership and peacebuilding in the BARMM.

The Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund continues to play a critical role in empowering local organizations to advance gender equality and build peaceful, resilient communities. TFI is honored to contribute to this mission and collaborate with partners working toward a common goal.
