GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines โ April 15, 2025 โ Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI), actively participated in a series of crucial capacity-building workshops held on April 7-8 and April 11-12, 2025, at the Avior Hotel in General Santos City. These back-to-back events, a Results Based Management (RBM) Training Workshop and a FACE Form Verification Review Workshop, were organized by UN Women for implementing partner Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Project, funded by the UN’s Womenโs Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).
The WPS Project is a vital initiative focused on promoting the meaningful participation and decision-making of women in conflict prevention processes and responses within conflict and humanitarian contexts. By empowering local women and young womenโs rights organizations, the project aims to foster sustainable peace and resilience in communities affected by fragility.
TFI recognizes the paramount importance of robust management and accountability in delivering impactful programs. Thus, the organization enthusiastically engaged in both workshops, sending key personnel to gain valuable insights and strengthen operational efficiencies.
Representing TFI at the Results Based Management (RBM) Training Workshop on April 7-8 were Mr. Jay Libarnes, Managing Director, and Ms. Princess Balinte-Malaguial, MERL Associate. The RBM workshop provided participants with in-depth knowledge and practical tools for designing, monitoring, and evaluating programs with a clear focus on achieving measurable results. This training is crucial for TFI in ensuring that its interventions effectively contribute to the overarching goals of the WPS Project.
Following the RBM training, TFI’s Operations Officer, Mr. Ruel Pugoy, and Finance Associate, Ms. Roselle Maglasang, attended the FACE Form Verification Review Workshop on April 11-12. This workshop focused on enhancing financial accountability and ensuring compliance with the stringent reporting requirements of the UN Women and the Womenโs Peace & Humanitarian Fund. Their participation underscores TFIโs commitment to transparency and responsible stewardship of resources, vital for maintaining trust and effectively delivering services to the communities it serves.
“Our participation in these UN Women workshops is a testament to TFI’s unwavering dedication to excellence and accountability in our peacebuilding efforts,” stated Mr. Jay Libarnes, TFI Managing Director. “The knowledge and skills gained from both the RBM and FACE Form workshops will significantly enhance our capacity to implement the WPS Project with even greater impact, ultimately empowering more women to lead and shape peace processes in their communities.”
TFI remains steadfast in its mission to transform fragilities into opportunities for peace and development, with a strong emphasis on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The insights and practical applications from these UN Women-led workshops will be instrumental in further strengthening TFI’s programmatic and operational frameworks, ensuring continued success in advancing the Women, Peace, and Security agenda across the region.
