The Asia Foundation in the Philippines (TAF) sought to better understand the dynamics between civic and political spaces by drawing on the perspectives of various civic society organizations through a nationwide survey. This will hopefully provide TAF valuable insights into rising trends in terms of collaboration between CSOs and government entities and how effective these are in producing positive, long-term results.
For TAF to accomplish their goal, the organization has contracted Transforming Fragilities, Inc. for data collection work in order to build up a database of CSOs to which will serve as contacts for the survey. TFI has therefore dispatched a data collection team led by Mr. Al Benzhar Lumanggal. The team was able to collect the necessary data between November 1 to 20, 2023 and final data consolidation and packaging was completed on December 6, 2023.
All in all, the TFI data collection team compiled a database consisting of 49 national-level CSOs whose scope of operations has a nationwide reach, 18 Luzon-based CSOs, 19 Visayas-based CSOs, and 20 Mindanao-based CSOs, for a total of 106 nationwide respondents.
This consultancy aligns with TFI’s Pillar 1: Data for Societal Change – focusing on baseline research and data gathering, Track 1: Data for Programme Management and Development.
