TFI Conducts Participatory OCA with CHILD Initiative

Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI) conducted a Participatory Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) for Community Hope and Initiative for Lasting Development, Inc. (CHILD Initiative) in Iloilo City from September 14 to September 15, 2023, for the Organizational Overall Capacity of ChildFund Local Partners.

CHILD Initiative is the tenth local partner organization out of 11 in the Philippines to undergo this evaluation. The primary objective of the OCA was to identify areas where local partner organizations, such as the CHILD Initiative, can play a more influential role in promoting the well-being and development of children, families, communities, and other stakeholders.

TFI assessed organizational capacity during this evaluation, examining both organizations across six capacity areas: Governance and Leadership, Organizational Culture and Management, Program Development and Management, Partnerships, Networks and Reputation, Financial Management, Administrative Management, and Human Resources.

This assessment aimed to provide a comprehensive view of CHILD Initiative’s organizational strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately contributing to its long-term growth and effectiveness.

The OCA, as an integral part of ChildFund Philippines’ initiative, is closely aligned with TFI’s Pillar 2: Data for Organizational Excellence and Track 2: Third-Party Monitoring and Assessment Services, with a particular focus on evaluating the Management and Operational Systems of Community-Based Organizations and Civil Society Organizations. This alignment underscores the strategic and collaborative approach of TFI to empower and enhance the effectiveness of the organizations it supports.
