TFI Conducts Participatory OCA with XSF, FACE

Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI) continues its Assessment of ChildFund Partners’ Organizational Overall Capacity and conducted a two-day Participatory Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) from September 4 to September 5, 2023, with the participation of Xavier Science Foundation Inc. (XSF) in Cagayan de Oro and Federation of Association for Children & Communities Empowerment, Inc. (FACE) in Sorsogon City.

In the assessment conducted for the Mindanao region, XSF was the fifth local partner organization to participate. Meanwhile, in the Luzon and Visayas regions, FACE was the first local partner organization to collaborate with TFI as part of ChildFund’s initiative.

The primary purpose of this assessment is to identify areas where local partner organizations like XSF and FACE can strengthen their capacities to have a more substantial impact on the well-being and development of children, families, and communities.

TFI, in their role as organizational capacity assessors, evaluated the two organizations across six capacity areas. These areas covered Governance and Leadership, Organizational Culture and Management, Program Development and Management, Partnerships, Networks, and Reputation, Financial Management, Administrative Management and Human Resources. The assessment aimed to provide a holistic view of XSF and FACE’s organizational strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately contributing to its long-term growth and effectiveness.

The Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA), as an integral part of ChildFund Philippines’ initiative, is closely aligned with TFI’s Pillar 2: Data for Organizational Excellence and Track 2: Third-Party Monitoring and Assessment Services, with a particular focus on evaluating the Management and Operational Systems of Community-Based Organizations / CSOs. This alignment with ChildFund’s aims underscores the strategic and collaborative approach of TFI towards fostering the growth and effectiveness of organizations it provides assistance to.
