Kalambu-an Project Parents Association, Inc. (KPPA) engaged in a two-day Participatory Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) from August 31 to September 1, 2023, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga Sibugay.
KPPA became the fourth local partner organization to participate in this assessment, conducted in collaboration with Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI) as part of ChildFund‘s initiative.
Board Members and Parents who are part of KPPA share quotes that are most fitting for their organization.
The primary goal of this assessment is to identify areas to strengthen the capabilities of local partner organizations, such as KPPA, to play a more influential role in advancing the welfare and development of children and communities.
TFI, in their role as organizational capacity assessors, evaluated KPPA across six capacity areas. These areas covered Governance and Leadership, Organizational Culture and Management, Program Development and Management, Partnerships, Networks, and Reputation, Financial Management, Administrative Management and Human Resources. The assessment aimed to provide a holistic view of KPPA’s organizational strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately contributing to its long-term growth and effectiveness.
The endeavor witnessed the participation of key individuals, including KPPA’s project manager, board members, parent representatives, and youth organization members.

The Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA), as an integral part of ChildFund Philippines’ initiative, is closely aligned with TFI’s Pillar 2: Data for Organizational Excellence and Track 2: Third-Party Monitoring and Assessment Services, with a particular focus on evaluating the Management and Operational Systems of Community-Based Organizations / CSOs. This alignment with ChildFund’s aims underscores the strategic and collaborative approach of TFI towards fostering the growth and effectiveness of organizations it provides assistance to.
