This is a comprehensive initiative by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) to understand the current situation of young people in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Implemented for BYC by Transforming Fragilities, Inc., the BYAS aims to create an evidence-based foundation for new policies and programs and to strengthen the relevance of the BYC’s initiatives. The study’s findings highlight both the challenges and opportunities for youth in areas such as education, health, economic empowerment, and participation in governance and peacebuilding. The study used a mixed-methods approach, including document reviews, field surveys, interviews, and consultations, to gather data. The analysis was guided by the frameworks of the Pyhilippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP) and the Bangsamoro Youth Transition Priority Agenda (BYTPA). The results and recommendations of the BYAS are intended to serve as a key reference for policymakers and stakeholders to empower the Bangsamoro youth and contribute to the region’s development.
