Brian Adam Anay is a seasoned development professional recognized for his academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. He was the valedictorian of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan’s 2017 graduating class and was named one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP), an award recognizing students who excel academically and demonstrate exceptional leadership and community service.
He specializes in youth development, peacebuilding, and communications. As a member of the pool of experts of TFI (January 2023 to May 2025), he was technical co-lead for the conduct of the Child Rights Situational Analysis (CRSA) in the BARMM commissioned by ChildFund Philippines, the Bangsamoro Youth Assessment Study (BYAS) commissioned by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), and the Baseline Study of Underserved, Isolated, and Vulnerable BARMM Communities and Sectors commissioned by Project TABANG.
As a program coordinator—and then program manager—for Equal Access International-Philippines between 2019 to 2025, he has designed and implemented numerous programs focusing on capacity development, social cohesion, and conflict transformation, directly impacting over 1,300 youth in Mindanao. His expertise includes developing comprehensive training manuals for international bodies like the US Department of State and USAID and leading interventions to prevent violent extremism in schools. He has also co-authored the CS-LIFT Toolkit, the 2020 Inspiring Courage and the 2021 Inspiring Courage stories of change of Peace Promotion Fellows, and the Linking and Learning Toolkit for OURmindaNOW Messaging Hub.
As the former Head of Media at Global Impact Phils Foundation, he significantly increased social media engagement and website traffic through strategic communications. He also co-founded “I am Mindanao,” a digital campaign countering violent extremism that reached 1.5 million people. Academically, Brian holds a Diploma in Professional Education and a Bachelor of Science in Development Communication from Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, and has completed professional fellowships and trainings in civic engagement, peacebuilding, and bridging leadership. He has also spoken about the importance of youth electoral participation and civic engagement and has media experience, having won an interschool newscasting competition.
