With the steadfast support of UN Women and the Womenโ€™s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), Transforming Fragilities Inc. (TFI) and its co-implementing partner Tiyakap Kalilintad Inc. have successfully completed the formation of ten (10) women-led Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) groups in key conflict-affected communities across Central Mindanao.

The newly established EWER groups are now operating across the provinces of Maguindanao del Sur (Rajah Buayan, Sultan sa Barongis, Datu Paglas, Paglat), Sultan Kudarat (Lambayong, Bagumbayan), North Cotabato (Tulunan), and within the BARMM Special Geographic Areas (SGAs) of Kapalawan, Ligawasan, and Pahamuddin. Their completion marks a significant milestone in strengthening inclusive and community-based peace and security mechanisms in the region.

In the coming months, these EWER groups will engage in a series of capacity-building and institutional development trainings aimed at enhancing their competencies in peacebuilding, early warning and reporting systems, conflict mediation, resilience-building, and organizational development. These sessions are designed to equip members with the technical and institutional tools needed to sustain their collective action and effectively respond to local tensions and emergencies.

To ensure long-term functionality and legitimacy, the EWER groups will also be formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)โ€”a step toward institutionalizing their roles as recognized local peace and resilience actors.

This initiative, implemented under the project โ€œStrengthening Moro and IP Womenโ€™s Capacities in Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) and Community-Based Conflict Mediation,โ€ reaffirms a shared commitment to empowering women and indigenous peoples as catalysts for durable peace, inclusive governance, and community resilience in the Bangsamoro and its neighboring areas.
