36 enumerators, 6 provincial supervisors, and their respective documenters were trained and deployed by Transforming Fragilities to conduct a baseline study on preventing violent extremism (PVE) in the five (5) BARMM provinces and SGA. This study was commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in line with their project entitled, “Preventing Violent Extremism through Promoting Tolerance and Respect for Diversity in Southeast Asia Phase II,” which is funded by the European Union.
The Training of Field Teams was conducted through a series of online sessions which culminated to a face to face training in Cotabato City on November 15 and 16 with members of TFI’s Pool of Experts. The Data Collection Phase of the baseline, managed by Program Field Manager Norhuda “Angel” Mala, began last February 7 and is expected to end by February 17. A data analysis workshop is being organized for the collected and consolidated data before packaging the final baseline report.
