Cotabato City – 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. (𝐓𝐅𝐈) has a strong and enduring commitment to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). TFI’s mission is rooted in providing evidence-based support for peacebuilding, development, and humanitarian action in the region. Its work is crucial in addressing complex challenges and fostering a more resilient and prosperous Bangsamoro.
In line with this commitment, TFI conducted two pivotal studies late last year:
First, implemented by TFI and commissioned by the 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐘𝐂), is the 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 (𝐁𝐘𝐀𝐒). This comprehensive initiative provides an evidence-based foundation for new policies and programs that aim to empower the region’s youth. The study’s findings shed light on the challenges and opportunities in key areas, including education, health, economic empowerment, and governance participation. The BYAS will inform the formulation of the Bangsamoro Youth Development Plan (BYDP) of 2025-2030.
Second, TFI conducted a crucial baseline study to inform the Project Management Office of Tulong Alay Para sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan, a special program of the Office of the Chief Minister. This assessment identified vulnerable and underserved communities, analyzing the livelihood challenges faced by farming and fishing communities. The results will be used to develop targeted interventions, providing direct and immediate services to communities affected by poverty, calamities, and conflicts.
The BYAS and Project TABANG studies were conducted last year. The findings and results of these studies are being presented and shared with the relevant BARMM agencies for planning and programming purposes this year. Both studies are intended to serve as key references for policymakers and stakeholders, supporting the region’s development and empowering the Bangsamoro people.
