Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI) successfully concluded a three-day orientation-training and data collection workshop at Pagadian City held from September 20 to 22, 2024. The event aimed to equip members of the Field Teams with the necessary field data gathering skills to effectively conduct critical primary data collection in the communities of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Research or evaluation tools are run-thru and simulated by the field teams in such training events to determine respondent-comprehension and usability, ensuring that the tools are attuned to the local context, the questions are relatable and that the information gathered can be as accurate as possible.
Among the field deployments that TFI’s field teams will be doing include the Bangsamoro Youth Assessment Study (BYAS) commissioned by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), the Baseline Study of Under-Served, Isolated, and Vulnerable BARMM Communities and Sectors commissioned by the Project Management Office of Project TABANG, and the Assessment Study of CSOs supporting the Bangsamoro Transition Process commissioned by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA). Of particular significance is the Bangsamoro Youth Assessment Study since it will be the first of its kind for the region.
TFI co-founder and chairman Mr. Ahmed Harris Pangcoga reminded the field enumerators of the importance of accuracy in data collection. Mr. Pangcoga reiterated his hope that data collected for the upcoming studies will have a significant positive impact on the end beneficiaries of the subsequent programming based on these studies , as well as contribute in its own way to the overall development of the BARMM.
The Field Teams will be expected to deploy in their assigned municipalities on September 30, 2024.
