Xavier Agricultural Extension Service Foundation, Inc. (XAESFI) recently participated in a two-day Participatory Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) held on August 29-30, 2023, at Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
XAESFI was the third local partner organization to undergo this assessment by Transforming Fragilities, Inc. (TFI), as part of ChildFund Philippines‘ broader initiative.
The primary goal of the assessment is to bolster the capabilities of local partner organizations like XAESFI, enabling them to play a more effective role in promoting the well-being and development of children and communities.
XAESFI staff and volunteers identified the strengths of their organization during the SOAR-WT analysis.
TFI, in their role as organizational capacity assessors, evaluated XAESFI across six critical capacity areas and gauged their current levels of competency within each capacity area. This evaluation aimed to identify opportunities for diversifying funding sources and developing strategies to enhance organizational capacity for long-term sustainability.
The Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) is part of ChildFund Philippines’ initiative, closely aligned with TFI’s Pillar 2: Data for Organizational Excellence. It falls under Track 2: Third-Party Monitoring and Assessment Services, with a particular focus on evaluating the Management and Operational Systems of Community-Based Organizations/CSOs. This integration underscores the strategic alignment and collaborative approach of TFI towards fostering the growth and effectiveness of organizations it provides assistance to.
Sylvia Acebes, the XAESFI Project Coordinator, shared her reflections during the 2-day participatory organizational assessment.
